Syncopation
A website for Syncopation, a phone app in closed testing that passes messages between nearby phones when there is no signal.
The problem. Explain phone-to-phone messaging before the app is available.
Campers, festival-goers and hikers need to understand what the app does and how to hear when it is ready. The site needs to show how a message travels through other phones while making the closed-testing status clear.
The approach. A festival tent wall, lit by the visitor.
The pointer becomes a UV lamp that reveals handwritten messages on dark cloth. Below it, a relay map explains the path between phones. A sign-up form takes an email address or phone number and the devices the visitor uses. The form also works with JavaScript off.
